HORSES

MEET THE

Mojo

Rescued from a trader/kill pen network, he is the mini horse with an enormous personality! Mojo came in October of 2021, quickly falling into the roll of BFF with Jax! A whole lot of attitude and spunk, packed into that petite little frame. His sassy antics and spirited demeanor remind us to embrace life with flair and enthusiasm everyday. Our little powerhouse has taught us that no matter the challenges, a dash of attitude and a sprinkle of spunk can make every moment extraordinary.

Sanibelle

In December of 2021, we welcomed a true champion into our rescue, our Sanibelle. Retired in 2004 after many victories, she became a broodmare. She mothered and nursed 10 baby’s that were all taken away from her. When the owner agreed to surrender her, she was brought back to our sanctuary with her BFF Willow, and they are now our “dynamic duo”, living there best lives!

Jax

Jax was the very first rescue here at Acres at Magnolia - the beginning of our rescue farm journey! Jax is a 20 year old male who has been with us since October of 2021. Jax’s journey from a rescued soul to a symbol of hope and inspiration has been truly transformative. Thank you, Jax, for being our guided light and paving the way for the  many lives we’ve touched and will continue to connect through our farm. Here’s to the legacy you’ve created and the endless lives we’ll save together.

Willow

In December of 2021, we welcomed an extraordinary member to our family. Once her racing career ended due to a back injury, she was abandoned in a vacant barn and left without food, water or care. Found on a Facebook page as an owner surrender, we immediately took action. Upon rescuing Willow, we met Sanibelle, and saw the bond between these 2. We didn’t dare want to separate them, begging the owner to surrender them together. Today, Willow thrives in her new home with her bestie, Sanibelle, surrounded by the love and care she deserves.

Sweetie

In February of 2022, Sweetie was rescued from a kill pen in Texas at just 3 months old, being separated from her Mother. We quickly made the decision to have her transported from Texas to our sanctuary to not end up in the auction pipe line. She is a quarter Philly mare, with a unique blend of quarter horse strength and Arabian elegance. She embodies the heart of a quarter horse - versatile, resilient and powerful, coupled with the grace of an arabian - agile, graceful and majestic. Today she is thriving and learning so much here! Her transformation is the power of love, dedication and second chances. She truly embraces her “Sweetie” name.

Ghost

Our 20 year old warrior! Ghost’s journey began in the darkness of severe neglect at Twist of Fate Farm and Sanctuary. His previous owner is now facing animal cruelty charges. He was found out in an open field, surrounded by the decaying remains of his kins. We joined forces with 30+ sanctuaries in providing forever homes for these severely neglected animals, one including Ghost’s bonded mate, Stormy. Despite being found partially blind and starved, Ghost is now on the path to healing and happiness.

Stormy

Our 16 year old partially blind quarter horse cross mare, who is also Ghost’s bonded mate. They truly are the best of friends. Stormy also came from the severe neglect case at Twist of Fate Farm and Sanctuary. Despite the tragedy + hardships she has endured, she is right along side Ghost, showcasing her strength and unwavering resilience.

Rose, Bonnie, and Purdy

This bonded crew was the first rescue of 2023. These three girls were in bad shape.. never had received veterinary care or even their hooves trimmed in their entire lives. They were completely feral and had never been handled by humans. Prior to arriving at our sanctuary, they received extensive training + veterinary care. Rose, the mom of Bonnie + Purdy, loves being pet + pampered almost as much as she loves her treats! Bonnie, aka Bon Bon, she’s the youngest but seems to be the leader of the pack. Once she let loose and became comfortable, she never wants to leave our sides. Lastly is Purdy. She is the oldest daughter of Rose. She loves being called “Purdy Girl” but always remains stand off-ish. Don’t let her fool you, she loves her treats and we continue working with her to get her comfortable day by day.

Envy

Envy joined us in March of 2023 along with three others, after we were notified of a severe starvation case. She is a buckskin, approximately 10 years old. Once here at the sanctuary, we immediately had our vets come out to do an evaluation. At this time her body score was a 2.5. After ample care, re-feeding programs + love, she now lives care free, running and playing around with her paddock mate Max.

Max

Max joined us alongside Envy in March of 2023, after being notified of a severe starvation case. He is a paint gelding, approximately 9 years old. Once here at the sanctuary, we immediately had our vets come out to do an evaluation. At this time, his body score was a 2, along with a heart murmur. When Max arrived here at the sanctuary, he seemed to be stand-offish + scared, but as time went on, he has now become “the boss.” Max is silly, will smile for carrots and enjoys his time in his paddock with Maximus.

Sox

Sox joined us alongside Envy + Max, after being notified of a severe starvation case. Prior to this, he was used for pony rides, carrying children too big for her to carry. He was treated more like a toy than like a horse, which no animal should ever have to go through. Sox is a Shetland pony, approximately 13 years old. Once here at the sanctuary, we immediately had our vets come out to do an evaluation. At this time, his body score was a 2.5. After ample care, re-feeding programs + love, he now trusts us and has become a big love bug!

COWS

MEET THE

Nala

Our sweet, sweet Nala girl. She was our very first cow here on the farm! Although we never started with the intentions of rescuing cows, it instantly became a must for us here! Upon arrival to pick up our rescue donkey, LJ, we stumbled upon Nala, a female Jersey cow, that was of no use to her owners as it was thought she only had one ovary and could not reproduce….. Well, more on that later!

Nellie

We received a phone call and were asked to take a bottle fed baby cow who was rejected by it’s mother. It was an easy YES for us! It was mid winter, so we quickly built a warm, indoor paddock. Bonding with a baby cow who is bottle fed is one of the most memorable, rewarding feelings.. It’s nothing short of taking care of a new born human. Nellie is sweet as can be, and still loves to give snuggles and kisses!

Nessie

Here’s where our story continues with Nala! So, if you remember the cow that was being sent to slaughter because she was thought to not be able to reproduce, well turns out.. She was pregnant. Nala gave birth here at our farm, and what a great experience that was! We are so grateful we made the decision because not only did we offer a carefree life for one, but now two cows. Nala is the best mama to Nessie and there bond is unbreakable. And for Nellie, she happily took on the roll of Auntie.

Timmy

Timmy is our only male cow here on the farm. He was an owner surrender due to being born with a disability and being very small in size, noted useless in the cow industry. He is a sweet, gentle giant (literally), and he does not like to be alone. He is very vocal and will do anything for treats and kisses, he’s quite the flirt!

GOATS

MEET THE

Lola, Lucy, and Lily

Our first goats here on the farm! Goats do not like to be alone, so this trio went and played everywhere together. They are absolutely adorable, love treats, and especially love Cheerios. They love playing with little kids and love soaking up the sun! Lola was pregnant at the time of her arrival, so we happily welcomed Lala + Levi shortly after.

Lala and Levi

These two cuties are the daughter + son of Lola, who were born here at the Farm! They bounce around all day long and love to give kisses!

Louie

Louie is the one and only fainting goat here on the farm. Although many think it’s a funny game, it is not. They are actually experiencing a prolonged period of muscle contraction and paralysis related to a congenital condition. Louie lives his days on the farm roaming around with his friends, jumping around and soaking up the sun.

The Golden Girls

These 3 lovely ladies spent 2 years in custody in the state of Connecticut after being rescued from an awful, heartbreaking cruelty case where almost 50 of their family members were found deceased. With the help of other sanctuaries, funds were raised and these girls were brought here to there forever home!

SHEEP & RAMS

MEET THE

DJ

DJ is our one and only baby doll ram. He was a bottle fed baby.. He loves to ram everything and anything, but we love him to pieces!

Daisy, Duncan, and Darla

This trio was rescued from an owner surrender.. Mama Daisy and her two children Duncan and Darla were all going to be separated which broke our hearts. We quickly made room and brought the 3 of them here, to spend the rest of their days together!

Reign, Dakota, Dahlia , and Demi

Surprise! The trio that we rescued had a lot more plans for us! Mama Daisy was pregnant with Reign + Dakota and her daughter Darla was pregnant with Dahlia + Demi. We added 4 new additions and now have a perfect family of 7!

PIGS

MEET THE

Fonz and Fat Albert

We rescued them from an owner surrender. They did not have the space to accommodate them and we happily took them! They love there pumpkins + bread as snacks. You can find them bathing in their self made mud pits + playing hide and seek with each other!

DONKEY

MEET THE

Little John

Little John, also known as LJ is such a sweet soul here on our farm. He loves running around his paddock with Mojo + Sweetie, loves snagging everyone's snacks, but is also so patient and kind.
